Mental Health Crisis Intervention Hotline
1-800-836-6010 or 724-547-0285
Mental Health Crisis Intervention Hotline provides 24/7
"hotline" support for individuals in crisis. The service
provides crisis counseling, consultation and referrals.
This is a 24/7 hotline that provides a
trained counselor to assist callers with their identified crisis
or issue. Counselors
respond to a variety of calls dealing with depression, suicide,
and other mental health issues. Licensed through the Department
of Public Welfare, Office of Mental Health, the hotline assists
mental health consumers with referrals to drug and alcohol
services, domestic violence resources and other community
program.
Those experiencing a crisis, or know someone who is, can
call 1-800-836-6010 or 724-547-0285 for help.
Mental Health Crisis Intervention Mobile Program
This program provides a face-to-face intervention when a
crisis is taking place. It may be a teen who is contemplating
suicide or an elderly neighbor who is suddenly aggressive and
delusional. This service is an expansion of the Mental Health
Crisis Hotline and assists callers needing immediate assistance.
Response time is contingent upon “emergent”, “urgent” or
“routine” priority indicators. These indicators also determine
weather or not police back up is sent to accompany the Mobile
Team. The Mental Health Crisis Intervention Mobile Program
serves Westmoreland and surrounding counties.
Diversion and Stabilization Unit (D&SU)
D&SU, also known as Crisis/Respite Residential Unit, is an
eight bed residential facility that provides short-term, 24-hour
a day supervised respite accommodations, crisis stabilization
services and counseling for persons in the public mental health
system. Services include assessments, treatment planning,
individual and group counseling, therapeutic recreational
activities and medication monitoring. Referrals to the program
come from community mental health agencies, social service
organizations and the Mobile Crisis Unit.
Enhanced Community Residential Rehabilitation Program (ECRR)
This is a long-term living space for adults with ongoing
mental health challenges working towards reintegration into the
community. The 24-hour on site staff provides assistance with
daily living skills and reintegration into the community to
enable residents to live as independently as possible.
Risk Assessment Management Program (RAMP)
This program provides a mental health professional to attend
to the immediate mental health needs of "at risk" youth housed
in the YMCA Emergency Youth Shelter and the Westmoreland County
Juvenile Detention Center. The Risk Assessment Manager provides
initial mental health screenings and makes recommendations for
treatment. Crisis intervention services are provided as needed
to prevent psychiatric hospitalizations.
